Mosaic Honored For ‘Shaping Downtown Long Beach’

The Downtown Long Beach Alliance celebrated its Spirit of Downtown Awards on April 5, recognizing people and organizations that have transformed downtown Long Beach.

The Downtown Long Beach Alliance (DTLB Alliance) honored Mosaic as one of its 2025 Spirit of Downtown Award Winners at a celebration held April 5 in tandem with the DTLA Art + Design Walk.

Celebrated annually, the awards recognize those individuals and organizations whose efforts have made a positive, transformative impact on Downtown. The winners have each uniquely demonstrated excellence at generating the energy and ideas that keep Downtown Long Beach thriving.

Mosaic, the only property recognized among awardees, represents six blocks of retail in the heart of downtown Long Beach. Acquired by Waterford Property Company and Turnbridge Equities in 2021, the property has been transformed thanks to the investment of its ownership team; support from the downtown community; the commitment and excellence of its retailers and restaurants; and the many contributions from the City of Long Beach and the DTLB Alliance.

  • Chris Sweeney for his efforts through RighMealz, providing healthy meal prep in downtown and extending his efforts to feed first responders and residents affected by the LA wildfires;
  • Rhonda Love of Dreamkreator Studio for being an advocate for arts, culture and technology, and serving the Long Beach Community with the curation of each; and
  • Brian Addison of Longbeachize and Long Beach Food Scene for being a champion for Downtown and enriching its evolution with his passionate point of view.

The evening was highlighted by the Don Darnauer ‘Downtown Don’ Anchor Award which celebrated the legacy of Isa McKinley Quiroz Rached, a proud immigrant from Mexico whose life was defined by compassion, inclusion, and community service in Long Beach.
