IRVINE, CALIF. – More than 700 industry professionals gathered to network and discuss local investing, financing and deal making at the annual RealShare Orange County event on August 22. The Town Hall Power Panel kicked off the afternoon sessions, featuring industry leaders sharing insight on the state of the retail, office and industrial markets.

Moderated by Kurt Strasmann of CBRE, the panel featured Coreland Companies President Chris Hite, Palisades Capital Realty Advisors Founder Joaquin de Monet, CT Realty Investors Executive Vice President Carter Ewing, and Greenlaw Partners Principal Will Smith.

Hite, who represented the retail sector, summarized his outlook of the industry as “measured optimism.”

“Retail is the caboose on the ‘recovery train’ following multi-family, industrial and office, mainly due to the fact that the industry’s health is so closely linked to the health of the consumer,” shared Hite. “To that end, regionally, housing is recovering and heating up, incomes and jobs are nudging up slowly, and consumer confidence is the highest it’s been since 2008.”
