30-40% of America’s food supply goes to waste, while at least 20% of the population suffers from food insecurity.
These realities are at the heart of Bracken’s Kitchen mission: Dedicated to food rescue, culinary training and community feeding programs, through the rescuing, re-purposing and restoring of both food and lives.
Founded in 2013 by Chef Bill Bracken, this Orange County non-profit organization is committed to cooking and sharing the tastiest and most nutritious meals as possible for their neighbors in need. The daily efforts not only rely on a full-time team of culinary and packaging professionals, but on the hundreds of volunteers needed to prep and package donations.
Coreland Companies had the privilege of supporting the amazing work of Bracken’s Kitchen at its Garden Grove headquarters in November. The team staffed daily shifts to cut vegetables and prep and package meals during one of its busiest times of the year. Collectively, volunteers helped to produce thousands of meals to be distributed among local communities, senior and youth centers.
We appreciated the opportunity to #giveback in a small way and encourage you to read more about the work of Bracken’s Kitchen: https://www.brackenskitchen.org/about-us.
