First opened in 1929, the approximately 50,000-square-foot Chapman Market was considered the city’s first drive-in mall and grocery store. It is well-recognized for its unique ornamental Spanish Baroque architectural style and was designated one of LA’s historic places in 1988. Having undergone various transitions over the years, today’s Chapman Market is considered one of the hidden gems of LA with a hip evening restaurant and bar scene.
